Jonathan H. Binau

A graduate of the United States Naval Academy and a former Naval Officer, Jake brings a wealth of leadership experience, a self-starter mentality, and a deep dedication to his profession as a lawyer. As an officer in the Navy, Jake served in several roles—both at sea as a Surface Warfare Officer and ashore as an analyst for Naval Special Warfare Command.

Following his military service, Jake pursued a law degree at The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, where he continued to clerk for Harris McClellan Binau & Cox (“HMBC”) while rigorously challenging himself academically. He concentrated his coursework in corporate law and transactions, with an exhaustive focus on taxation. Additionally, Jake broadened his economic and financial acumen by studying at the London School of Economics, where he gained a deeper insight into international business and economic frameworks.

Jake began his legal career supporting HMBC’s litigation practice group, playing a vital role in discovery, depositions, and pre-answer and dispositive motion practice. Since 2023, his practice has shifted toward real estate and corporate matters, assisting in large-scale real estate transactions, providing comprehensive corporate counsel to small businesses, and playing a key role in business transactions—from sourcing deals to executing and closing them.

Jake takes pride in his responsiveness, diligence, and commitment to achieving the best outcomes for his clients. His well-rounded experience in both litigation and transactional work has sharpened his skills as a self-learner and a strong advocate. Looking ahead, Jake aims to focus his practice on small business formation, governance, and corporate law while continuing to support larger clients in real estate matters.
